Symbol Set Conversion warning

Recently I received an OCAD 9 map file, imported it into OCAD 2019 then used Symbol Set Conversion function to convert it to OCAD’s setup for ISOM 2017.

While planning a course I noticed that a small cliff symbol was inverted. Further investigation showed that some of the other invertible symbols were the wrong way around. I discussed this with OCAD hq and they have now added a warning to that effect in the OCAD wiki.

These are OCAD files. You can either

  • rename the file to act as a template (in which case I suggest you make it read-only
  • or import into an existing map file via Map > Load colours & symbols from…

What’s easier than the rotate tool to angle text, crossing points etc?

Ken you have been unobservant. Immediately left of the Rotation icon on the toolbar  is the Direction icon as highlighted below. Select the symbol instance then select the Direction tool and stroke the symbol instance in your preferred direction.
